The Welsh Government continues to mitigate the worst impacts of the UK Government’s welfare reforms, including the benefit cap. We have programmes that help people to access sustainable work and affordable housing. In addition, we provide advisory support and continue to maintain full entitlements for the council tax reduction scheme.

Our position and commitment regarding the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child remain unchanged. The Welsh Government will continue to lead the way in promoting the rights of children and young people. How we do this is clearly set out in our children’s rights scheme.

Yn y cyfnod o dair blynedd a ddaeth i ben yn 2014/15, roedd 29 y cant o blant yng Nghymru yn byw mewn cartrefi â thlodi cymharol o ran incwm, sef gostyngiad o 2 bwynt canran. Er gwaetha’r gostyngiad hwn, mae tua 200,000 o blant yn dal i fyw mewn tlodi. Mae hyn yn annerbyniol ac mae pob adran yn gweithio i leihau tlodi.
