We are making good progress towards our ambitious target of delivering 20,000 affordable homes during this term of government. Whilst it is still relatively early in this Assembly term, we are confident we will achieve the target.
Improving mental health services across the whole of Wales continues to be a priority for the Welsh Government. We have committed a further £40 million for mental health services over the next two years.
Welsh Government funding has helped to prevent homelessness for over 14,000 households since our progressive legislation was introduced. Funding, increased by £30 million over this year and next, supports a range of statutory and non-statutory services to help those who do not have a secure place to live.
We have been consulting on a revised 'Planning Policy Wales', which provides both strong protection for the environment and the public while allowing our agricultural industry to develop and remain viable.
Our action on employability and economic growth will create jobs and support communities to thrive. We are also investing in the early years to tackle and prevent poverty for future generations. Programmes to mitigate the impact of poverty include the discretionary assistance fund and the council tax reduction scheme.
