Research suggests that around 80 per cent of mental health issues begin when individuals are young and that is why improving and protecting the mental well-being of our children and young people is a key priority for the Welsh Government. We are taking a cross-government and multi-agency approach to do so.

We are taking widespread action to invest in business, in people and in infrastructure to support a fairer, greener and more prosperous economy in South Wales West, working closely with wide-ranging partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The action plan that accompanies the electric vehicle charging strategy for Wales was published in March 2021. Together, the documents plan to increase the provision of the various types of charging infrastructure required to encourage and keep pace with the adoption of electric vehicles.

Social media provides both risks and rewards for young people. Through the 'keeping safe online' area of Hwb, we provide extensive resources and guidance to support online safety education, and equip this generation with skills to manage the risks of social media.

Welsh farmers can play a vital role in tackling climate change by reducing on-farm emissions through a range of approaches, including improved efficiency in livestock and crop production, nutrient management and increasing sustainability of farm technology and infrastructure. We will continue to support farmers to adopt low-carbon practices.  

Our programme for government sets out our commitments to further develop and strengthen grass-roots sport by investing in facilities and taking measures to improve access to sporting opportunities, particularly for underrepresented groups.
