Our programme for government commits to investing further in our elite sporting facilities, which will be accessible to all. Recent investments in north Wales include artificial pitches in Flintshire, Anglesey and Gwynedd, and a competition-standard athletics track in Bangor.
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust is working with Swansea Bay University Health Board to implement a range of actions to manage 999 demand in the community, increase capacity, improve responsiveness to people with time sensitive complaints and improve ambulance patient handover.
Increasing participation in sport and physical activity is a key commitment in our programme for government. We are investing in accessible and attractive facilities to encourage people of all ages and abilities to engage in sport and physical activity.
More than £248 million has already been invested through the NHS recovery fund to help health boards tackle waiting times and transform the way they deliver services. Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board received over £20 million in addition to their targeted intervention financial support. The investment will target improving capacity to treat patients through winter.
