The Welsh Government is committed to keeping our communities safe. We work closely with the police and other agencies responsible for community safety in north Wales.

Under legislation made by the Welsh Ministers, it is a requirement that local authorities assess and meet the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers. To support this work, we invested £3.5 million in Gypsy and Traveller sites across Wales in 2021-22.

This government is proud to support children and young people seeking sanctuary. I am pleased to say we have provided £1.5 million in support to local authorities to develop their services. We have also published guidance for local authorities to support trafficked children and facilitate the independent child trafficking guardian service.
