We've had no assurances to date from the UK Government that additional funding will be made available to respond to the ongoing public health emergency after the end of March. We are continuing to press for funding for a more realistic transition period than the UK Government seem to want to apply in England.
Welsh Government works with clinicians and patients to improve services for all those with neurological conditions, including motor neurone disease. We also work closely with local authorities to do more to improve the lives of people living with this awful disease.
We continue to move ahead with plans to establish a north Wales medical school. This year, the numbers of medical students being trained in north Wales will rise again, with further increases to follow as undergraduate students are recruited from 2023 onwards.
Natural Resources Wales has begun the detailed process leading to the designation of the Clwydian range and Dee valley as a national park. The overall programme will encompass detailed evidence collection and assessment, as well as extensive engagement and consultation with stakeholders.
I will announce our longer term plans alongside the outcome of our next 21-day review of regulations on 4 March. This will include our transition plans for test, trace, protect in Wales.
