The Welsh Government will make any decision on the M4 relief road on the basis of advice covering all aspects of the proposed scheme.

'Taking Wales Forward' and 'Prosperity for All' set out the objectives for the Government and how we will achieve them. The commitments in my leadership manifesto build on and extend this programme.

Welsh Government continues to support the Welsh high street, most recently by investing £26 million to provide further business rates relief for businesses across Wales.

Electoral reform will be included within a local government and elections Bill to be introduced this year. Votes for 16 year olds and other changes to the franchise and registration will be in place for the local government elections in 2022.  

The 'Prosperity for All' national strategy and economic action plan set out the actions we are taking to improve regional development across Wales.

We set up the Public Policy Institute for Wales in 2014 to provide independent policy advice for Ministers. In 2017, this function became part of the Wales Centre for Public Policy, which is a joint venture between the Welsh Government and the Economic and Social Research Council.

The Welsh Government is supporting local democracy in many ways. For example, we recently published and considered the review of community and town councils. We are also introducing a number of measures to support local democracy in principal councils through the local government and elections (Wales) Bill.
