The Welsh Government is supporting the farming community in west Wales, as in all parts of Wales, to become more profitable, sustainable, resilient and professionally managed. Over 7,000 individuals and 3,000 businesses in the region have signed up to Farming Connect, a vital element of our support to farming.

The promotion of responsible ownership remains a key priority for the Welsh Government. Welfare codes of practice for livestock and companion animals are published on the Welsh Government website. The 'Wales Animal Health

and Welfare Framework: Implementation Plan 2019-20' sets out Welsh Government priorities, which includes animal welfare.
