The Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Public Services has written to the Secretary of State for Justice informing him we will not facilitate the further development of prisons in Wales, until more meaningful discussions take place on the wider justice agenda.
We are improving the energy efficiency of housing through our Warm Homes programme, which includes the Nest and Arbed schemes. Since 2011, we have improved over 45,000 homes and, through our investment of £104 million, we will improve up to a further 25,000 homes by 2021.
I recognise the vital importance of improving pupils’ digital skills as highlighted by Estyn’s annual report. We have made it part of our national mission to provide all learners with high-level digital skills to ensure our young people are all digitally competent and become enterprising, creative and critical thinkers.
The Welsh ambulance service utilises a range of response options including community first responders and fire service co-responders to deliver immediate medical assistance until an ambulance arrives, particularly during periods of high demand.
The Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport is considering the findings and recommendations of the inspector’s report following the public local inquiry, before making a decision on the scheme this spring.
